James Straffon

James is a multidisciplinary creative, with over 25 years experience working between both the design and fine art sectors. This includes in-house senior designer roles, as well as independent freelance consultancy. He works across a wide range of projects, from fine art commissions for large scale public art installations to Art Direction, feature writing, design, photography, retouching and post-production on high-quality magazines. He is an effective provider of branding solutions, able to work across identity design, applied to both print and online media platforms. The act of hands-on making and knowledge-based design is central to his work.
His artwork is exhibited primarily in London, and held internationally in both public and private collections. He is the co-founder and Director of the Turnpike Art Group - a platform for street art and artists - where he curates public exhibitions, introduces international street art to London, as well as creating his own work under the pseudonym TAG. James has provided commissioned installation pieces both on the street and for interior projects in London. Spanning both design and fine art, clients have included The Royal Opera House, EMI, Tate Modern, The Royal Academy of Arts, The Barbican, Coppin Dockray Architects, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Paul Smith, Rapha Racing, Shaun Leane Jewellery, Velorution and Logitech.
