James Straffon

James is a multidisciplinary creative, with over 25 years experience. His work bridges the painterly, spontaneous world of fine art and the more specific, detailed sphere of graphic design. The cross-pollination of such a broad creative approach provides creativity which is innovative, prolific and highly-inventive. He works across a wide range of projects, including fine art commissions for large scale public art installations, Art Direction, feature writing, design, photography, retouching, film-making and post-production. James is also an effective provider of branding solutions, able to work across identity design, on both print and online media platforms. The act of hands-on making and knowledge-based design is central to his work.
His artwork is exhibited primarily in London, and is held internationally in both public and private collections. He is the co-founder and Director of the Turnpike Art Group - a platform for street art and artists - where he curates public exhibitions, introduces international street art to London, as well as creating his own work under the pseudonym TAG. James has provided commissioned installation pieces both on the street and for interior projects in London, and mainland Europe. Spanning both design and fine art, clients have included The British Embassy in Luxembourg, The Royal Opera House, EMI, Tate Modern, The Royal Academy of Arts, The Barbican, Coppin Dockray Architects, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Paul Smith, Rapha Racing and Logitech.
